About The Position

The Finance/Accounting Intern is a student enrolled in a four-year degree program at a college or University who assists in the day-to-day accounting processes and responsibilities within the Finance Department. Under the supervision of the Controller, the Intern is responsible for a variety of functions pertaining to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial support functions. While some of the essential functions of the Finance/Accounting Intern role are completely independent, the incumbent will be expected to work in a team environment. The ability to take direction, as needed, from supervisors is required.

Requirements

Enrolled Sophomore or Junior Accounting major from a four-year college or university;
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills;
Strong verbal and written communication skills;
Proficient using MS Excel, Word and Outlook;
Ability to create Excel spreadsheets and analysis;
Ability to work mornings or afternoons for 20-25 hours per week in 4-hour blocks of time;

Nice To Haves

Previous work experience in an office environment.
Knowledge of accounting systems, preferably NetSuite.

Responsibilities

Assist Staff Accountant with invoicing sponsorship agreements.
Prepare basic Balance Sheet reconciliations.
Assist in ensuring the control environment is operating effectively.
Document and maintain thorough and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions completed using NetSuite and/or Microsoft Excel.
Gather data and complete various financial analyses.
Perform general clerical duties to assist accounting teams.
Other duties as assigned.
