Intermodal Logistics Coordinator

About The Position

The Intermodal Logistics Coordinator will provide quotes and routes for inland container movements, secure rates, and facilitate the inland movement of containers via Rail, Truck, and Barge. This role involves setting up invoices in SAP and transmitting rail bills. The coordinator will support commercial efforts to maximize profitability by finding cost-effective and efficient routing, recommend routing changes, and negotiate rates with truckers. Responsibilities include managing changes to vendors/routing, executing and managing rail billings, and resolving related problems.

Requirements

High School Degree
3 years’ experience preferred in various LOG operating positions.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree
Logistics / Operation experience in Container Shipping industry

Responsibilities

Provide accurate quotes/rates for intermodal freight, bids, and spot business.
Support commercial efforts to maximize profitability by finding the most cost-effective and efficient routing for new and existing business.
Recommend changes in routing when alternate routes are preferred.
Negotiate rates with truckers for spot business and new routes.
Update ZIMAPS quarterly and for missing costs as needed.
Maintain routing and route preference order in IQ Ship.
Create routes when auto routing is missing, expired, or not logical.
Update costs in routes when missing.
Manage changes to specific vendors/routing in day-to-day operations as required.
Execute and manage rail billings, and resolve problems as they arise.
Optimize Inland Routing.
Provide timely response to Commercial Team Routing Requests.
Ensure usage of the least expensive trucker.
Resolve unrouted requisitions within 1 day when B/L is valid, but route does not exist.
Resolve unrouted requisitions within 2 days when a manifest corrector is required for B/L or booking.
Resolve manual TO’s so none are over 1 week.
Process rail bill requests within 2 hours of receipt.
