About The Position

ConGlobal is hiring an Intermodal Equipment Operator, also known as a Terminal Operator, to support global supply chain operations. The role is based at 4350 Goer Drive, North Charleston, South Carolina 29406. The operator helps move shipping containers safely and efficiently within an intermodal yard, using specialized equipment to load, unload, and relocate containers so freight keeps moving on time. The position offers paid training and opportunities for long-term career advancement.

This is a full-time, immediate-hire position with a starting wage of $20.00 per hour. Open availability is required for all shifts, including weekends and holidays. A valid driver’s license is required. The work is outdoors in all weather conditions and includes physically demanding tasks.

Requirements

• Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays; open availability is required.
• Basic communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs, both off and on railcars.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must pass pre-employment background verification, physical, and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience operating heavy equipment or machinery in a logistics or industrial environment.
• Experience in intermodal or rail yard operations.
• Familiarity with container-handling equipment such as hostlers, top loaders, or cranes.
• CDL or equipment certifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to load and unload shipping containers from railcars and trucks.
• Drive hostlers to position containers and chassis within the yard.
• Use top loaders, side loaders, and/or cranes to stack, move, and organize containers.
• Inspect equipment before and after use to ensure operational safety.
• Communicate with yard personnel and supervisors to coordinate moves and tasks.
• Maintain a safe work environment by following established protocols and procedures.
