About The Position

This is an intermittent position with limited hours, not to exceed 720 hours per fiscal year. The role is part of the Sample Receiving Lab at the College of Veterinary Medicine in Starkville, MS. The position is classified as 'Unclassified' with salary ranges determined by the hiring department.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of a high school diploma
• Must be able to work 11/12-5pm
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs
• Must be comfortable with Necropsy Specimen

Responsibilities

• Assist with general office duties, including organizing workspaces and supporting staff as needed.
• Answer incoming phone calls, take accurate messages, and direct inquiries to the appropriate personnel, including the Sample Receiving Technician.
• Greet visitors in a professional manner and provide basic information or direct them to the appropriate department.
• File documents and maintain organized records, including temperature charts and other administrative logs.
• Run errands and deliver materials within the school or facility as required.
• Assist with receiving, unboxing, and sorting incoming mail and packages.
• Transport laboratory samples between Sample Receiving and various labs while following proper handling procedures.
