About The Position

The Intermediate Systems Administrator will provide systems administration and IT maintenance activities as required to support 24/7/365 operations across all AFOSC PED sites.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of relevant experience to the position
  • DoD 8570.01 IAT Level 2

  • Microsoft Windows Client, Office, Directory Services Administration, Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)

Responsibilities

  • Provide second-tier support to end-users for PC, server, mainframe applications, and hardware.
  • Handle problems that the first tier of helpdesk support is unable to resolve.
  • Interact with network services, software systems engineering, and/or applications development to restore service and/or identify and correct core problems, as required.
  • Simulate/recreate user problems to resolve operating difficulties and/or errors.
  • Recommend systems modifications to reduce user problems.
  • Maintain currency and high level of technical skill in the field of expertise.
  • Assist with computer equipment replacement program (CERP) cycle rollouts, including hardware installation.
  • Escalate more complex problems to senior level, as required.
  • Assist with identification of equipment that needs to be acquired, equipment sustainment, and equipment distribution.
  • Assist configuration manager with shipping and control, to include equipment pickup, packing, shipping, and tracking.
