Position Purpose Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Initiatives, the incumbent designs and implements innovative digital communication strategies to optimize the visibility of the service on various communication channels, including senior-level governance, Web and social media. Provides expert advice to members of the service with regards to writing and presenting content to ensure that it is of high quality and complies with relevant policies and procedures. Responsible for the operational processes related to managing the service’s websites. Provides expert change management and communications advice to IT project managers in support of university-wide projects. Supports the Chief Information Officer, Deputy Chief Information Officer and IT Executive members in leadership communications having high impact on the culture and adoption rates of strategic initiatives across the University. In this role, you will: Plan and manage change management projects. Create change management strategies , including developing job aids, communications, marketing for strategic technology and digital initiatives to support optimal change adherence, foster a user-centric environment and maximize productivity gains for users (students, professors, researchers, support staff, alumni, retirees). Anticipate and plan for impacts of IT changes for various audiences. Design and implement innovative digital communication strategies to ensure that the business objectives are met through the design and content of digital products, meeting high quality standards and developed in optimized formats. Generate narratives for presentations that influence and have a direct impact on the audience’s willingness to embrace upcoming changes, and drive employee engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in creating videos in support of enablement and engagement plans is an asset.
  • Writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Experience adapting content for different audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in creating and managing websites; content management systems; user interface design; web accessibility.
  • Experience creating and executing digital communications strategies.
  • Experience creating and implementing social media plans.
  • In-depth understanding of IT initiatives and their potential impacts on end-users.
  • Knowledge of web accessibility guidelines and experience in following them.
  • Experience and high comfort level in a number of digital platforms, software, and channels: social media channels, Microsoft software, Windows/Mac, multimedia platforms.
  • Experience coordinating initiatives including working with subject-matter experts (SMEs), technical leads, designers, developers, managers, executives.
  • Ability to translate complex technology concepts into business language to convey meaning effectively.
  • Tact.
  • Bilingualism — English/French (spoken and written).
