About The Position

The Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) supports state agency business operations through various services including building management, IT, procurement, financial management, and more. This specific position is within the Agency Services area of DTMB, serving as a Senior Application Developer and technical resource for the Eligibility Division supporting the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services (MDHHS). The role involves providing production support, evaluating and developing solutions, recommending technical modifications, and designing, developing, and maintaining applications across multiple platforms. The primary technologies used will be web development technologies including JAVA, PL/SQL, and others for the Bridges project, with a focus on upgrading technologies as needed. Additionally, the position is responsible for the development and maintenance of related processes in the Client Support area, including associated reports, documentation, navigation, data storage, retrieval, validation, manipulation, printing, and other processes.

Requirements

  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics.
  • Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11.
  • Possession of an associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in computer science, information assurance, data processing, computer information, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, IT project management, or mathematics and two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician; or two years (4,160 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.
  • Completion of high school and four years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, information technology technician, or four years (8,320 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide production support for applications.
  • Evaluate possible solutions and develop alternative solutions.
