About The Position

The Intermediate Math Teacher will develop and implement lesson plans that align with district curriculum goals and state standards, catering to the individual needs of each student. This role involves creating a positive learning environment, assessing student progress, and communicating with parents. The teacher will also collaborate with other staff, maintain classroom resources, and supervise students during school activities. Professional development and participation in school committees are also key aspects of this position.

  • Credentials, as required by the State of Oklahoma.

Responsibilities

  • Develops lesson plans and instructional materials that meet the district's curriculum goals and state standards, as well as the individual needs of each pupil.
  • Translates lesson plans into learning experiences that effectively utilize the available time for instruction.
  • Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
  • Evaluates pupil's academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares reports relating to pupil's progress.
  • Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss pupil's progress and interpret the school program.
  • Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
  • Creates an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards, and interest centers.
  • Maintains professional competence through inservice education activities provided by the district and self-selected professional growth activities.
  • Selects and requisitions books and instructional aids; maintains required inventory records.
  • Supervises pupils in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working day.
  • Administers group standardized tests in accordance with the district testing program.
  • Participates in curriculum development programs as required.
  • Participates in faculty committees and sponsorship of pupil activities.
  • May coach, participate in extra-curricula activities, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
