3D SystemsLittleton, CO
$65,000 - $85,000Onsite

About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Maintenance Planner to coordinate and optimize preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities supporting our additive manufacturing equipment and facility assets. The ideal candidate brings hands-on maintenance planning experience in a manufacturing environment and can effectively prioritize work, develop schedules, manage resources, and minimize disruptions to production. Success in this role requires strong critical thinking, organization, and communication skills, along with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where processes are not always well-defined and many planning activities rely on manual systems and collaboration across multiple teams. If you're energized by solving complex equipment challenges, driving continuous improvement, and helping power breakthrough technologies that are transforming aerospace, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing, we'd love to hear from you!

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Two years of experience in maintenance planning, industrial maintenance, maintenance supervision, maintenance lead, reliability, or a closely related function within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand industrial equipment operation, maintenance strategies, repair methods, and asset reliability principles.
  • Strong understanding of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience planning labor, contractor resources, tooling, spare parts, materials, and equipment downtime requirements.
  • Working knowledge of MRO inventory management and maintenance materials planning.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize competing maintenance activities, adapt to changing business demands, and execute effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and make sound decisions with limited direction while managing multiple priorities and shifting business needs.
  • Self-motivated and action-oriented, with the ability to quickly learn new equipment, processes, and technologies while contributing with minimal day-to-day oversight.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and effectively coordinate maintenance priorities with Maintenance, Production, Engineering, Facilities, and Supply Chain stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting additive manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, highly automated production equipment, or similarly complex industrial systems.
  • Experience within aerospace, medical device, pharmaceutical, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience utilizing CMMS platforms such as Fiix, SAP PM, Maximo, eMaint, or similar systems to support maintenance planning and execution activities.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical, and automated equipment systems.
  • Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 13485, FDA-regulated manufacturing environments, or similar quality management systems.
  • Experience supporting Lean Manufacturing, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), or other continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability and operational performance.
  • APICS, CMRP, Six Sigma, or other relevant maintenance, manufacturing, reliability, or supply chain certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the Fiix CMMS to create, prioritize, schedule, and manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance work orders.
  • Develop maintenance job plans, including labor estimates, required skill sets, tooling, spare parts, contractor support, safety requirements, and equipment downtime coordination.
  • Prepare detailed maintenance work packages containing technical procedures, drawings, equipment manuals, permits, and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules with Production and Operations teams to maximize equipment availability while minimizing manufacturing disruption.
  • Monitor schedule compliance, adjust priorities based on business needs and equipment criticality, and ensure timely closure and documentation of maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate and oversee third-party contractors and OEM service providers to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established requirements.
  • Work independently to prioritize multiple maintenance activities, adapt to changing business needs, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment where processes and systems are continually evolving.
  • Support the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of preventive and predictive maintenance programs to enhance equipment reliability and asset performance.
  • Analyze maintenance history, equipment performance metrics, and failure trends to identify improvement opportunities and optimize maintenance effectiveness.
  • Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), recommend corrective actions, and support implementation of reliability-focused solutions.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations teams to support continuous improvement initiatives that increase uptime, reduce unplanned downtime, and improve asset performance.
  • Manage inventories of maintenance spare parts, tooling, consumables, and critical repair components to maintain operational readiness.
  • Coordinate procurement activities with Supply Chain and Purchasing teams while ensuring required materials and replacement parts are available prior to scheduled maintenance activities.
  • Monitor inventory levels, usage trends, and obsolescence risks while identifying opportunities to improve spare parts availability and inventory effectiveness.
  • Apply mechanical and technical knowledge to evaluate maintenance requests, support repair planning, and assist troubleshooting efforts for equipment failures.
  • Interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, OEM documentation, and maintenance procedures to accurately scope maintenance work.
  • Communicate equipment risks, maintenance priorities, and operational impacts to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders while balancing multiple competing priorities.
  • Partner closely with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Facilities, Supply Chain, and Maintenance teams to support maintenance planning and execution activities.
  • Support facility shutdowns, equipment installations, capital projects, and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of safety, 5S, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement consistent with 3D Systems' Core Values.
