About The Position

We have an immediate opening for an Intermediate Laboratory Technician to join our Materials Testing group in our Burnaby BC or Calgary, AB office.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams and client groups.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, meet deadlines, and perform under pressure.
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills.
  • Valid Canadian driver’s license.
  • Minimum 2- 3 years' experience in Asphalt testing Laboratory.
  • Strong focus on Health and Safety.
  • Ability to work overtime in peak periods.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Field experience as a Materials Field Technician is considered an asset.
  • Completion of, or current enrollment in a recognized Civil Engineering Technology diploma program is considered an asset.
  • Possess a current CCIL Certification is considered as asset
  • Possess a current CCIL Certification for Aggregates is considered as asset.
  • Experience with Marshall and Superpave Mix Designs.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out Marshall and Superpave tests within our Asphalt Laboratory.
  • Prepare detailed reports based on laboratory test results.
  • Ensuring laboratory equipment is maintained in good condition.
  • Interacting with Materials and Geotechnical Engineers routinely.
  • Operating computerized and digital testing equipment.
  • Responsible for MTO and CCIL’s Correlation Program.
  • Any other materials testing as assigned.
  • Proper Interaction with clients, and contractors to provide excellent services.
