About The Position

AlgaeCal is looking for an intermediate Full Stack Developer to join their Dev team. In this role, you will work hands-on with new middleware and React frontend, tackling both front and back-end tasks to squash bugs and build features that elevate user experience. You will also contribute to creating and refining customer-facing content and crafting high-converting sales pages within their CMS. This is a chance to make a meaningful impact on millions of lives—all while working in a fun, collaborative environment. The role involves bringing design vision to life across eCommerce platforms — building clean, reusable React components, registering them in a Shopify Hydrogen theme, and helping the page-building team move faster without sacrificing quality. You will also work on the backend, creating feature enhancements and bug fixes in Node.js middleware, investigating tickets, writing tests, submitting pull requests, and helping keep the storefront experience smooth, fast, and reliable. This is a hands-on coding role for someone who enjoys both sides of the stack: turning designs into polished customer-facing experiences, while also understanding the middleware that keeps everything working behind the scenes.

Requirements

• Proven web development skills involving front and back end.
• Skilled at working in the overlap between front and back end.
• 2+ years of experience in a software development role.
• Examples of work in a wide variety of coding niches.
• Encyclopedic knowledge of JavaScript, Node.js, and React.
• Comfortable with Typescript and Remix (or Next).
• At least 2 years of experience as a software developer.
• Mastery of all-things dev.
• Knowledge of Bitbucket.
• Knowledge of AWS.
• Next level bug resolving skills.
• Humble, putting team and others' needs ahead of your own.
• Hungry to learn more.
• People-smart, a great teammate.
