About The Position

The Intermediate Electrical Engineer plays a key role in the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for nuclear projects. This position is responsible for preparing technical documentation, specifications, and reports in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The engineer collaborates with multidisciplinary teams—including architects, civil engineers, and project managers—to ensure the seamless integration of electrical components within complex nuclear facilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is required, in good standing with a Canadian engineering regulator.
  • A minimum of 4+ years of experience in electrical engineering.
  • Strong understanding of applicable codes, standards, and regulations, including CEC and other local and international standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with both internal teams and external clients.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and mentor teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working on Canadian Nuclear Facilities will be considered an asset.
  • Experience in AutoCAD, REVIT and other electrical design software is an asset.
  • Prior experience in designing E-House Buildings, Equipment Specifications, and tendering is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implementation of electrical systems for Nuclear projects, including lighting, control systems, and distribution systems.
  • Develop and maintain design documentation, specifications, and reports in accordance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and other multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into larger projects.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and design teams.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, local codes, and industry best practices.
  • Participate in client and project meetings, providing valuable input and insights.
  • Contribute to the growth of the Electrical department through the review and development of standards and templates.
