About The Position

STV is an international multidiscipline engineering/architectural consulting and construction management company performing over $300 million in revenue annually. Our award-winning portfolio within the Buildings Division includes architectural assignments within the Transportation, Educational, Institutional, Justice and Industrial market sectors. We currently have an opening in our Owings Mills, MD practice for an Intermediate Architect with our Buildings division. Candidates with Transportation-related experience are highly desirable. The candidate should be a self-starter with a passion for problem solving, an understanding that project success comes through teamwork, and a firm focus on client needs. This role emphasizes design management, production, and delivery, with the ability to develop both professionally and personally. The ideal candidate is self-motivated with a solid technical foundation allowing them to work independently. Requirements

• Professional Degree in Architecture (B. Arch or M. Arch preferred)
• A minimum of 8 years of experience working within numerous market sectors, with specific emphasis on mass transit desired.
• Experienced with participating in multidisciplinary teams from conceptual design through construction documentation.
• Extensive professional Revit Architecture and BIM 360 experience required.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite are required.
• Excellent design, technical detailing and strong presentation skills, both verbal and visual, are indispensable.

• Transportation-related experience
• Professional Registration is highly desirable.
• Autodesk products, Enscape, Bluebeam, Rhino 3D, Grasshopper, Lumion, and Adobe Creative Suite experience are a plus.
• LEED Accreditation or an equivalent sustainability credential is also a plus.

Responsibilities

• Working with, and coordinating, an architectural/engineering team in preparing documents for projects.
• Coordinating with other disciplines and manage the delivery of design documents.
• Plan, schedule, coordinate, manage and oversee the work of lower-level architects who assist with particular projects.
• Interface with clients and partner firms and assist in leading teams of other design professionals to deliver design products requiring interface and collaboration with various disciplines, clients, and consultants.
• Prepares Architectural; mentors’ younger staff; performs analysis of design and construction systems; completes planning studies; oversees preparation of design layouts and construction details.
• Oversees research used in writing specifications, including coordinating with manufacturers.
• Conducts site and construction inspections for information-gathering purposes, preparing interpretive reports.
• Executes code analysis, material selections, and technical solutions.
• Analyzes design and construction systems, design layouts and construction features, which require researching, compiling and recording information for assigned project work.
• Assists in conceptual design for various types of facilities.
• Participate collectively with multiple design disciplines, the technical approach and design criteria for projects.
• Coach junior architectural staff.
• Perform independent investigations, studies, and architectural analysis.
• Develop design details, plans, and writing specifications.
• Contribute new designs or techniques which are of material significance in the solution of important problems.
• Remain current in codes and technologies appropriate to the architecture discipline including IBC, NFPA, etc.
• Participate in meetings with clients to discuss project scope and progress.
• Participate in presentations to clients and other key stakeholders.
• Assist with developing technical proposals and cost proposals.
• Assist in developing project schedules and responsible for monitoring and reporting related to deliverable progress, schedule, and budget status.
