About The Position

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Intermediate Accountant will provide support and assistance with daily accounting and administrative duties for multiple divisions and companies. The Intermediate Accountant will handle general accounting tasks, ensuring financial transactions are accurately recorded and compliant with company policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience or proven track record in a similar role.
• Strong experience with processing AP and AR transactions.
• Solid experience with month end, performing account reconciliations, recording journal entries.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, high volume of data and manual business processes.
• Organized and can manage multiple priorities, with high attention to detail.
• Able to demonstrate logical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Clear communication skills and fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

• CPA designation considered an asset.
• Experience with third party platform for credit card transaction processing such as Concur, an asset.
• Previous experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains ERP is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Daily cash management posting and bank reconciliation support.
• Process vendor invoices and credit card transactions into the system.
• Prepare disbursement runs and process into the bank for payment.
• Prepare customer billings and invoices and assist with collections.
• Posts journal entries and ensure all financial transactions are recorded in a timely manner.
• Compliance duties around GST, sales tax & VAT analysis and remittances.
• Collaborate with finance team members on various tasks as required.
• Perform other ad hoc duties outside normal scope of work as required.
