About The Position

Our Vancouver or Langley office is looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join the Financial Reporting & Insights team. This role involves preparing compilation engagements, including year-end working paper files, financial statements, and supporting documentation for clients across various industries. The position also requires preparing and reviewing corporate (T2), personal (T1), trust (T3), and partnership tax returns, as well as information returns and slips like T4, T4A, and T5 with related CRA filings. A key aspect of this role is building and maintaining positive working relationships with clients, directly communicating with them to request information, discuss accounting matters, and respond to inquiries. The Intermediate Accountant will identify and resolve accounting and bookkeeping issues, support managers and partners in delivering high-quality client service and meeting deadlines, and communicate progress updates and issues to team members. Additionally, the role involves participating in business development initiatives, identifying new business opportunities with existing clients, and investing in the professional development of the team through training and mentoring junior members.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of related experience in the public accounting industry.
  • Enjoy working within a variety of industries and keen to develop further knowledge in this area.
  • Value teamwork, client service, and quality in detailed work.
  • Display strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare compilation engagements, including year-end working paper files, financial statements, and supporting documentation, for clients in a variety of industries.
