About The Position

BDO's GTA Audit Practice is seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join their team. This role offers flexibility to work from their Toronto, Oakville, or Markham offices. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting and supporting audit engagements, preparing working papers and financial statements in accordance with regulatory standards, streamlining the preparation of year-end engagements and tax returns for clients across diverse industries, fostering positive client relationships, and maintaining communication with team members regarding progress and issues.

Requirements

  • Completed or currently working towards CPA designation.
  • Minimum of 1 year of audit experience in the public accounting industry.
  • Exposure to or familiarity with IFRS, or US GAAP standards.
  • Prioritize teamwork, client service, and quality while completing detailed work.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of accounting policies and assurance techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and support audit engagements by preparing working papers and financial statements in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Streamline the preparation of year-end engagements and tax returns for clients across diverse industries.
  • Foster positive working relationships with clients, and promptly address their requests and suggestions.
