About The Position

The primary duties of the interior technician are to remove and install cabin components as required to support maintenance and modifications. The interior technician must have knowledge and experience to work in a licensed FAA 145 Repair Station.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Requires 3-5 years of experience as an Interior Technician in an installations/modification facility.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, installation drawings or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.
  • Basic word processing, spreadsheets, internet software and e-mail.
  • Must have current driver’s license.
  • Five (5) years of experience in the aviation industry with focus on interior removals and installations.

Responsibilities

  • Remove and install interior decorative items in accordance with installations drawings, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documents with minimal or no supervision.
  • Responsible for inspecting cabin monuments for defects, document discrepancies and submit for proper disposition/resolution.
  • Must be versed in pattern lay-ups, proper cutting techniques and finish material processing for final installations.
  • Must be familiar with industry standards of cleaning agents and the proper techniques for use.
  • Must be familiar with the application of adhesives and the proper build-up of decorative finish materials.
  • Must be able to differentiate and work with various types of soft good materials.
  • Responsible for completing all reports, forms, and checklists as required, in accordance with company, government, and Federal Administration (FAA) regulations.
  • Complies with all safety requirements and uses all mandated safety equipment in accordance with company, government, and OSHA requirements.
  • Assists coworkers and those in other departments to successfully perform job duties and functions when necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
