About The Position

The Interior/Exterior Maintenance Worker B prepares and performs minor preventative maintenance on a variety of powered and nonpowered equipment. The role includes duties in and around buildings and grounds, including grounds and lawn maintenance and snow and ice removal. The worker assists maintenance engineers and other workers and may guide external service providers when lawn, snow removal, and trash services are purchased from outside vendors. Work is performed independently, with possible direction from higher-level peers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One to two years of experience in grounds maintenance, including equipment repair.
• Knowledge of methods, practices, and materials used in grounds care.
• Ability to operate riding and push lawn mowers, snowblowers, and handheld equipment such as rakes, hoes, saws, hedge trimmers, edgers, and weed eaters.
• If driving is required, must meet and continue to meet the requirements in the Fleet Driving Safety and Compliance Policy.
• Knowledge of safety practices and techniques.
• Written and verbal communication skills to direct contract work and maintain records.
• Ability to maintain working relationships with hospital staff and contract service agencies.
• Good eyesight, sense of smell, dexterity, and coordination to operate equipment.

Responsibilities
