About The Position

LRS Architects is hiring interior designers at a range of career stages for its Commercial + Civic Workplace Studio. The studio works on commercial workplaces and civic environments, including spaces serving public agencies and communities. The role may involve developing design skills, coordinating complex projects, managing project teams, or leading design vision, depending on the candidate’s experience and strengths. Interior designers develop concepts responsive to client goals and user needs; explore space planning, materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, and color; and contribute to workplace strategies supporting collaboration, focus, flexibility, wellness, and user experience. They prepare visual presentations and design documentation, coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams, and may participate in client meetings, design reviews, project coordination, and construction administration. The team balances design quality with budgets, schedules, technical requirements, and constructability while supporting a collaborative studio culture. Career opportunities include Designer (approximately 1–6 years of experience), Design Coordinator (approximately 6–10 years), Design Lead (approximately 10+ years), and Design Manager (experience aligned with project and team leadership responsibilities). These experience ranges are general guidance rather than strict requirements. LRS values demonstrated skills, design thinking, collaboration, and leadership alongside years of experience. LRS describes itself as a Pacific Northwest architecture and interior design firm. It is majority women owned, JUST labeled, and recognized as a Top Workplace. The firm emphasizes thoughtful design, strong relationships, diverse perspectives, and meaningful work. Applicants are invited to submit a resume and portfolio.
