About The Position
One of our clients is seeking an Interior Designer to join their design team in Fort Lee, NJ. The ideal candidate will have strong design sensibility, technical ability, and the flexibility to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Requirements
- Strong SketchUp and AutoCAD proficiency
- Candidates should be comfortable moving efficiently between 3D design development in SketchUp to 2D technical documentation in AutoCAD.
- A strong understanding of interior construction, materials, millwork, and detailing is expected.
- Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or related field preferred
- Strong design and space-planning skills
- Strong SketchUp 3D modeling skills
- Efficient AutoCAD drafting and documentation skills
- Knowledge of interior construction, materials, finishes, and millwork
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines
- Portfolio demonstrating both design and technical capabilities
Nice To Haves
- Revit is not required.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, rendering/visualization software, and other relevant design tools is preferred.
- Experience using AI-assisted design and productivity tools is a strong plus. We value candidates who actively use or explore AI for visualization, concept development, presentations, research, documentation, and overall workflow efficiency.
- Professional Korean and English bilingual (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Develop design concepts, space planning, and presentations
- Create detailed 3D models in SketchUp
- Produce accurate AutoCAD drawings and construction documentation
- Prepare floor plans, RCPs, elevations, sections, finish plans, and millwork details
- Select and specify materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, and lighting
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and fabricators
- Participate in site visits, field measurements, and construction coordination
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Senior candidates may lead projects, manage client relationships, and oversee junior team members
