Interior Designer
About The Position
RH Interior Designers provide design services to walk-in clientele within an RH Gallery. The role is suited to experienced designers with leadership qualities, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for building a thriving design business at their Gallery location. Designers bring personal style, a polished appearance, refined taste, and a discerning eye for luxury, and help attract and retain talented individuals who uphold RH’s personal and professional standards. Interior Designers independently create original residential interior designs using RH’s design point of view and assortment. They determine design objectives based on the client’s space, architecture, environment, and lifestyle, and communicate design concepts through floor plans, sketches, and visual presentations. They lead projects of varying sizes, support and teach client interactions, and oversee the client experience from initial contact through delivery. The role also includes meeting clients in the Gallery and in their homes, and contributing to fiscal goals through design projects and Gallery design consulting.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of design experience within a design firm or high-end furniture and luxury retail; this experience is preferred.
- A professional portfolio is required.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and related space-planning and rendering programs, with strong graphic and digital presentation skills.
- Results-driven, with a proven ability to motivate, influence, and inspire a team.
- Commitment to quality and exceptional attention to detail.
- Current knowledge of local and global design industry trends.
- Proficiency with Mac Operating System, Microsoft Office, and Google Applications.
- Ability to travel locally or out of state.
- Ability to lift and move small to medium items weighing up to 25 pounds while using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
- Ability to maneuver effectively around the Gallery floor, stock room, and office.
- Ability to perform prolonged standing, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, bending, and climbing.
Nice To Haves
- A degree in Art, Architecture, Interior Design, or a similar field.
- Hands-on interior installation experience.
- Strong artistic skills, including hand rendering and sketching capabilities.
- Leadership or business experience.
- Successful project management experience.
- A current driver’s license.
Responsibilities
- Live RH’s vision, values, and beliefs every day.
- Independently create original residential interior designs using RH’s design point of view and in-depth knowledge of the RH assortment.
- Determine design objectives for each client’s space, considering its architecture, environment, and the client’s lifestyle.
- Use floor plans, sketches, and visual presentations to show how RH’s design point of view will be applied to a client’s personal space.
- Achieve fiscal goals through design projects and Gallery design consulting.
- Meet with clients in the Gallery and in their homes.
- Lead multiple design projects of various sizes.
- Master, execute, teach, and support daily client interactions through RH’s approach to residential interior design.
- Oversee all phases of the client experience, from initial contact through delivery.
- Help attract and retain talented individuals who uphold RH’s personal and professional standards.
