About The Position

RH Interior Designers provide design services to walk-in clientele within an RH Gallery and help build a thriving design business at their location. The role is suited to experienced design professionals with leadership qualities, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for residential interiors. Designers create original designs using RH’s design point of view and product assortment, and guide clients through the full design experience, from initial contact through delivery. They are expected to bring refined taste, personal style, and a discerning eye for luxury while helping uphold RH’s personal and professional standards.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of design experience within a design firm or high-end furniture and luxury retail; this experience is preferred.
• Professional portfolio required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and other related space-planning and rendering programs, with strong graphic and digital presentation skills.
• Results-driven, with a proven ability to motivate, influence, and inspire a team.
• Commitment to quality and exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to travel locally or out of state.
• Ability to lift and move small to medium items weighing up to 25 lbs. while using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
• Ability to maneuver around the Gallery floor, stock room, and office; the position entails prolonged standing, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, bending, and climbing.

Nice To Haves

• Art, Architecture, Interior Design, or a similar degree preferred.
• Hands-on interior installation experience preferred.
• Strong artistic skills, including hand rendering and sketching, preferred.
• Current knowledge of local and global design industry trends.
• Leadership or business experience preferred.
• Successful project management experience preferred.
• Licensed to drive preferred.

Responsibilities

• Live RH’s vision, values, and beliefs every day.
• Independently create original residential interior designs using RH’s design point of view and in-depth knowledge of the RH assortment.
• Determine design objectives for each client’s space, considering its architecture, environment, and the client’s lifestyle.
• Use floor plans, sketches, and visual presentations to show how RH’s design point of view will be interpreted in the client’s space.
• Ensure fiscal goals are achieved through design projects and Gallery design consulting.
• Meet with clients in the Gallery and in their homes.
• Lead multiple design projects of various sizes.
• Master, execute, teach, and support daily client interactions through RH’s residential interior design point of view.
• Oversee all phases of the client experience, from initial contact through delivery.
