About The Position

Sheladia Associates, Inc. is seeking a talented Interior Designer/ Associate (Design Associate) to join their architecture department. This role provides hands-on production support to cross-functional teams and requires a self-motivated team player eager to expand their skills and knowledge. The position is fully on-site at the company's headquarters in Rockville, MD.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial and institutional design projects
  • Proficiency in Revit (required) and working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Experience with 3D rendering software
  • Strong understanding of drafting principles, techniques, and construction documentation from concept through construction administration
  • Ability to develop drawings and deliverables across all project phases
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal)
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong problem-solving, organization, and self-management skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet tight deadlines
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

  • Working toward or holding NCIDQ certification

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on production tasks, ensuring high-quality output, under direct supervision of the senior staff members.
  • Performs Revit modeling and detailing with the team.
  • Assists in feasibility studies, narratives, reports, drawings, and documents production at all stages of design and construction.
  • Ability to develop FF&E sets and specifications.
  • Coordinates the work with other junior professionals and consultants.
  • Coordinates onsite efforts with Contractor.
  • Exercises independent judgment in evaluating, selecting, and using standard techniques, solving problems as they arise, and receives guidance on projects.
  • Displays competence in general conventional aspects of architecture and Interior Design.
  • Other duties as required.
