About The Position

Rice Fergus Miller (RFM) is seeking an Interior Designer to join their team. This role is a key support person to the project team, working under direct supervision on routine interior design tasks. The designer will be accountable to the Project Manager/Lead Interior Designer and is expected to achieve a target utilization rate of 95%. This is an hourly, non-exempt position, and the individual will be gaining experience in preparation for NCIDQs/licensing. The role involves participating in at least one aspect of firm leadership and supporting project teams. RFM is an architecture, interior design, and planning firm with offices in Bremerton and Spokane, Washington, committed to design excellence, sustainability, and building lasting relationships.

Requirements

  • A degree in Interior Design or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a professional office
  • Honest, direct and constructive communication
  • Knowledge of finished materials, furniture and lighting
  • Basic knowledge of programming and functional analysis
  • Basic knowledge of space planning principles
  • Basic understanding of zoning, building and life safety codes
  • Basic knowledge of furniture, finish and fixture specifications
  • Manage time effectively regarding project contract, schedule and fee
  • Knowledge of computer software including Revit, Adobe Creative Suite and SketchUp
  • Ability to hand sketch
  • Knowledge of the phases of the design process
  • Work effectively within a collaborative team environment
  • Consistently meet deadlines, completing tasks as previously defined
