About The Position

The Interior Design Intern assists the interior design team on multiple projects and is willing to contribute to any aspect of a project. Potential project types include higher education, libraries, performing arts, government, office, and multifamily. The intern helps develop and present design ideas and may work across several projects of varied types.

Potential tasks include assisting with design exploration and project documentation in Revit; preparing client presentations in InDesign; creating finish binders and presentation boards; supporting FF&E specifications, budgets, and documentation; researching, selecting, and specifying interior and furniture finishes; communicating and coordinating with interiors product representatives; and keeping the interiors library organized and up to date.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in interior design from a CIDA-accredited program.
• Interest in sustainability and sustainable materials.
• Strong graphic, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• General knowledge of FF&E, color, and materials.
• General knowledge of architectural representatives and communication.
• A service-focused mindset dedicated to meeting client requirements, expectations, and budget.
• Knowledge of space planning, ADA, and life safety requirements.
• Knowledge of relevant software, including Revit, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator), and Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

• Enscape and AutoCAD experience.
