About The Position

Under the supervision of Nisha Fernando, this position is responsible for organizing and coordinating the orders of materials in the IA Materials Library in 317 Marvin Hall. This role involves regularly organizing materials, labeling sections, discarding unusable samples, and cleaning the space. A key responsibility is coordinating the ordering of new materials. The position also includes other related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a sophomore, junior, or senior in the IA major.
  • Availability during assigned class time.
  • During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours.
  • For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester.
  • Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students.

  • As demonstrated in previous positions; an interest in materials and products, with some associated knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly organize materials in the bins and cupboards, labeling materials sections as needed.
  • Discard any unusable samples and boxes, and clean the space as needed.
  • Coordinate the ordering of new materials.
  • Other related duties as assigned or requested.
