About The Position

Cherry Bekaert's consulting team is assisting a large, diversified organization in identifying an experienced Interim Fractional CFO to provide executive financial leadership during a CFO transition. Reporting directly to the CEO, this consultant will provide continuity and oversight across a complex multi-entity enterprise that includes federal contracting and commercial operations. The focus is on executive leadership, not day-to-day accounting execution. This opportunity is ideal for an accomplished CFO who can quickly establish credibility, provide steady leadership during a transition, and guide critical audit, budgeting, and acquisition-related initiatives while the organization completes its search for a permanent CFO.

Requirements

• Prior CFO, Divisional CFO, or senior finance executive experience
• Background in large, complex, multi-entity organizations
• Experience with audits, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting

Nice To Haves

• Federal government contracting experience preferred
• M&A, integration, and purchase accounting experience preferred
• CPA preferred

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic financial partner to the CEO and executive leadership team
• Oversee year-end audit readiness and financial reporting activities
• Support acquisition integration efforts and purchase accounting matters
• Lead executive review and completion of the annual budgeting process
• Provide enterprise-wide financial oversight across multiple business units
• Ensure a smooth transition to the incoming permanent CFO
