Interim Clinical Pharmacy Manager – Acute Care
About The Position
Specialty Medical Staffing is seeking an experienced Interim Clinical Pharmacy Manager for an acute care hospital in Asheboro, North Carolina. The role supports inpatient clinical pharmacy services and combines clinical leadership with some direct pharmacist staffing. Approximately 25% of the position involves direct inpatient pharmacist coverage, with other pharmacy operations and workflow support as needed. The assignment is temporary, expected to last at least three months, with potential for extension depending on facility needs. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Weekend staffing is not routinely required.
Requirements
- Active North Carolina pharmacist license.
- PharmD or Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
- Strong inpatient hospital pharmacy experience.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills.
Nice To Haves
- Previous clinical pharmacy leadership or management experience.
- Infectious disease and antimicrobial stewardship experience.
- Experience with Meditech and Pyxis.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and support clinical pharmacy services within the hospital.
- Provide clinical leadership and guidance to pharmacy staff.
- Support antimicrobial stewardship and infectious disease-related pharmacy initiatives.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy.
- Participate in clinical program development, staff education, and quality improvement.
- Support regulatory compliance and Joint Commission survey readiness.
- Provide approximately 25% direct inpatient pharmacist staffing coverage.
- Assist with pharmacy operations and workflow as needed.
