About The Position

The Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach is responsible for providing athletic strength and conditioning training, as well as consultation, to eighteen (18) intercollegiate athletic teams. Additionally, this position supports the Assistant Director Athletic Performance in the following areas; Scheduling the Santora Elite Training Center (Center) for team use, developing and implementing an orientation program for new student athletes, and the repair & maintenance the Center, as well as the equipment contained therein. The Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach reports to the Assistant Director Athletic Performance.

Requirements

  • Current knowledge of applicable rules and standards of the affiliated athletic conference, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) or National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), as well as other associations and agencies to which the campus adheres, and, at all times avoid any and all violations of these rules and standards.
  • Specialized knowledge of the team sport or activity and demonstrated technical expertise in coaching principles.
  • Strong interpersonal, motivational and team leadership skills to work effectively with athletic participants.
  • Maintain current certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Leadership skills to mentor and develop athletes.
  • Ability to demonstrate creativity, sound judgment and decision-making; be an effective problem solver and effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • May need to maintain NCAA certified recruiter status.
  • May need to maintain CPR / AED and First Aid certification.
  • Certified C.S.C.S or SCCC.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working in a college athletic setting.
  • Must be able to provide proof of work authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Providing athletic strength and conditioning training to eighteen (18) intercollegiate athletic teams.

  • Scheduling the Santora Elite Training Center (Center) for team use.
  • Developing and implementing an orientation program for new student athletes.
  • Repair and maintenance of the Center and its equipment.
