About The Position

Impact Life is seeking a licensed Intensive Outpatient Therapist to join our Georgetown Outpatient team. The IOP Therapist provides comprehensive behavioral health treatment services to individuals participating in our Intensive Outpatient Program, with a focus on substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. This position provides evidence-based individual, group, and family counseling and is responsible for assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic intervention, care coordination, clinical documentation, and supporting clients throughout their recovery.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field required.
  • Active Delaware license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health (LPCMH) required.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health treatment, substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health conditions, and evidence-based clinical practices.
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and client confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team.

Nice To Haves

  • Three or more years of experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or a related clinical setting.
  • Experience providing individual and group therapy.
  • Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
  • Experience utilizing evidence-based practices such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Relapse Prevention, and trauma-informed care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling for clients enrolled in the Intensive Outpatient Program.
  • Facilitate structured therapeutic groups utilizing evidence-based practices for substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
  • Complete comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and ongoing clinical assessments to determine treatment needs and appropriate levels of care.
  • Develop individualized treatment and recovery plans based on client needs, strengths, and clinical recommendations.
  • Monitor and document client progress toward treatment goals and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
  • Provide crisis intervention and risk assessment when necessary.
  • Coordinate care with case managers, peer recovery specialists, medical providers, and community partners to support continuity of care.
  • Educate clients and families on substance use disorders, recovery principles, relapse prevention strategies, and behavioral health wellness.
  • Conduct discharge planning and referrals to appropriate continuing care, treatment, and recovery support services.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation within the organization’s electronic health record system.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, clinical supervision, program development, and quality improvement activities.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory, licensing, payer, confidentiality, and organizational requirements.
