About The Position

The Illinois Emergency Management Agency and Office of Homeland Security (IEMA-OHS) is seeking a forward thinking operational minded individual to join our Homeland Security Prevention Division. The individual in this role will be responsible for managing the Intelligence Operations section. The successful candidate will have criminal and national security intelligence experience, professional experience leading an intelligence program, unit, or initiative and advanced knowledge of the laws, rules, and regulations related to intelligence information. Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in business or public administration.
  • Requires prior experience equivalent to three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Eight (8) years of professional experience in an intelligence discipline, with demonstrated experience in both criminal and national security intelligence.
  • Prefers at least Eight (8) years of professional experience leading a program/unit/initiative in an intelligence discipline, preferably within the U.S. Military or United States Intelligence Community.
  • Prefers at least Five (5) years of professional experience planning and directing the implementation of a program/unit/initiative either within, or in support of, the United States Intelligence Community.
  • Prefers at least three (3) years of professional experience with most of the work including projects directly related to public safety preparedness, public-private coordination, or a combination thereof.
  • Prefers to demonstrate advanced knowledge of, and experience with, the applicable laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to the collection, retention, and dissemination of criminal and national security intelligence information.
  • Prefers a master’s degree with courses in Criminal Justice, National Security, Intelligence, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Under direction of the Assistant Deputy Director of Homeland Security, as the Intelligence Section Manager, sets policies, procedures, and objectives for the Intelligence Section and determines the means by which the Section achieves its policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Ensures the Intelligence Section operates effectively and efficiently both internally and externally.
  • Prepares budgets and strategic plans for the Intelligence Section.
  • Performs other duties as assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
