About The Position

Valeo is a global tech company focused on reinventing mobility through breakthrough solutions. As an Automotive supplier partner, Valeo aims to create greener and more secure mobility by developing intuitive driving and reducing CO2 emissions. This role is for an Intellectual Property Intern who will support the company's IP function by assisting with patent prosecution, prior art research, and portfolio management. The position is year-round and part-time (30 hours a week or less), with an immediate start date. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

Requirements

• Currently a student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Legal field, Engineering, or related field.
• Authorized to work in the US without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Administrative management of inventions from the IDM to the patent granting.
• Preparation of files for filing patent applications worldwide (FR, US, EP, PCT, CN, etc.).
• Administrative follow-up of patent files, including managing deadlines for filing documents, responses, and requests to Intellectual Property Offices/National Attorneys.
• Management of incoming mail (emails, physical mail, and Patent Office mailboxes).
• Updating the IP Database, including collecting, verifying, and recording data.
• Checking the accuracy of data entries, particularly regarding generated deadlines (e.g., for paying annual maintenance fees, requesting examination).
• Management of deposit accounts within IP Offices.
• Filing, storage, and e-storage of IP files and documents.
