About The Position

Join Our Team as an Attorney at Axiom. We are seeking junior-to-mid-level Intellectual Property Attorneys to support clients across IP licensing, patent, and IP litigation matters. This is an opportunity for in-house experienced attorneys who can provide practical, business-focused counsel across technology, software, consumer products, industrial, chemical, and manufacturing environments. Our immediate needs include attorneys with experience in Tech/SaaS/Software, CPG, industrial technologies, chemical engineering/chemistry, and computer science–based innovations. Opportunities may be remote, hybrid, or onsite depending on client needs.

Requirements

  • Junior-to-mid-level attorney with relevant in-house IP experience
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: IP licensing, patent counseling/prosecution, FTO/clearance, IP transactions, or IP litigation
  • For IP licensing: experience supporting technology, SaaS, software, AI, consumer products, or CPG businesses
  • For patent-focused roles: technical background in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials, polymers, manufacturing, computer science, software, AI, or related fields
  • For IP litigation: experience with CPG or industrial infringement matters strongly preferred; technology-focused litigation experience is also valued
  • Strong ability to translate complex technical and legal concepts into clear, commercially practical guidance
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active bar license

Nice To Haves

  • Chemical engineering or chemistry experience involving chemical process technologies, gas processing, LNG, hydrogen, ammonia, petrochemicals, refining, carbon capture, or other industrial and energy-transition processes
  • Experience with industrial, food, materials, polymer, chemical, or manufacturing technologies
  • Computer science, AI, software, or broader technology background
  • Experience supporting companies such as Apple, Google, Qualcomm, Meta, or other large technology businesses
  • Experience supporting CPG or chemical companies such as Dow, LyondellBasell, DuPont, Eastman, Ecolab, Mars, P&G, Estée Lauder, or Kraft Heinz
  • Experience with global patent portfolios, cross-border transactions, and high-value IP matters
  • Ability to work effectively in remote, hybrid, or onsite client environments

Responsibilities

  • Drafting, negotiating, and advising on IP licensing, technology agreements, and related commercial transactions
  • Managing patent portfolios, invention reviews, patentability analyses, freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses, clearance work, and competitive landscape assessments
  • Supporting IP aspects of transactions, including M&A, due diligence, licensing, and strategic portfolio development
  • Advising business and technical stakeholders on IP strategy, risk, enforcement, and commercialization
  • Supporting patent and IP litigation matters, including infringement analysis, dispute strategy, discovery, and coordination with outside counsel
  • Partnering with internal legal, product, engineering, R&D, and commercial teams to deliver practical, business-oriented legal advice
