Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) is seeking an Integrative Medicine Physician (MD/DO) to join a growing, multidisciplinary care team delivering whole-person care within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting. This role blends primary care, lifestyle medicine, and integrative approaches within a highly collaborative model that includes Physical Therapy, Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Mental Health, and Health Education. The physician will serve as the clinical lead in developing and delivering individualized, evidence-informed care plans that address the full spectrum of patient needs. Requirements

  • MD or DO with active California medical license
  • Board-certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related primary care specialty
  • Fellowship training or board certification in Integrative Medicine (e.g., American Board of Integrative Medicine) preferred
  • Experience or strong interest in lifestyle medicine, obesity medicine, or whole-person care models
  • Demonstrated ability to work in team-based, multidisciplinary environments
  • Commitment to serving diverse and underserved populations

Nice To Haves

  • Fellowship training or board certification in Integrative Medicine (e.g., American Board of Integrative Medicine) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive primary care with an integrative, whole-person approach
  • Develop individualized care plans incorporating lifestyle medicine, behavioral health, and appropriate complementary therapies
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary team members (PT, Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Mental Health, Health Education) to coordinate care
  • Manage acute and chronic conditions with a focus on prevention and long-term health outcomes
  • Educate patients on nutrition, physical activity, stress management, and behavior change strategies
  • Utilize evidence-informed integrative approaches alongside conventional medical treatments
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record
  • Participate in care model development and continuous improvement of integrative service delivery
