APP, Integrative Aortic Program, Part Time
About The Position
The Integrative Aortic Program (IAP)/Cardiothoracic Surgery (CTS) Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for the follow-up of all patients in the registry who are under surveillance for thoracic aneurysm/dilated aorta and/or who have had surgical intervention for their aneurysm, including aortic dissection. The APP is responsible for comprehensive assessment and patient education regarding imaging results as they relate to risk stratification, employing Guideline Directed Surveillance. The IAP/CTS APP will provide education on signs and symptoms to report and reinforce activity restrictions for patient safety. The APP will also provide pre-operative and post-discharge care for Cardiac surgery/aortic surgery patients. Additionally, the IAP/CTS APP is responsible for planning and organizing support groups for patients and family members who have undergone surgery for thoracic aortic aneurysm or are in the surveillance program. The APP leads the multi-disciplinary IAP conference.
Requirements
- Current Advanced Practice Nurse licensed in the State of New Jersey.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of Cardiology/Cardiac Surgery nurse practitioner experience or in area of specialty.
- Certification in related specialty required.
Responsibilities
