About The Position

Advantech is in search of an Integration Test Technician to test, configure, and troubleshoot our industrial computing products before they reach customers. You'll handle hands-on hardware and software integration from OS installation through functional testing and customer-specific configuration, while partnering with engineering, production, and team leads to keep orders moving to schedule and quality targets met.

Requirements

  • GED, high school diploma or above in a technical/scientific field or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Or Completion of formal technical training (2+ years) or Product-oriented certificates/A+ computer training.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks, and time management skills are a must.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 2 years hands-on / professional experience in PC hardware testing/software integration areas is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of hardware and software, as well as the knowledge of various MS operating systems and technical skills in network connectivity for all computer station and server systems setup.
  • Ability to read and follow ISO procedures, CTO File (Customization to Order file), OEM Form (Original Equipment Manufacturing Form) and SOP (Stand Operation Procedure) is required.
  • Setup and create RAID, Knowledge in Linux OS/Centos/UNIX is a plus.
  • To manage a changing workload and priorities, meet order schedules with quality results.
  • Work independently, analytically problem-solve and follow instructions precisely.
  • Willingness to motivate and support other engineers and be a team player.
  • Travel and support offsite services if needed.
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Testing Advantech’s design industrial computing products to meet product testing requirements and shipment deadlines.
  • Provides hardware / software technical and technological expertise in their particular areas of PC functional integration.
  • System integration for all computer units (Advantech system / CPU board / data acquisition board), including hardware inspection, OS installation, power on test, functional test and trouble-shoot in the system function level when needed.
  • System integration and functional testing of all PC related products.
  • Reviews work orders BOM against SOP/CTO/OEM File and ensure work is performed according to specifications.
  • Support overall tasks required in a particular production process.
  • Effective email and verbal communication with managers and department’s Team Leaders.
  • Integration and testing of all system level products in a timely manner.
  • Perform hardware and software level ECOM rework on testing and integration sequencing systems, firmware, software, reagents and application components rework, upgrade, modify, test to configure Advantech’s product to customers’ configuration based on customer’s special requests and instructions.
  • Work and interface with the team leader, the PE group and supervisors, initiate and provide the correct response / solution positively and professionally to solve the computer functional issues to meet overall quality targets.
  • Report daily productivity throughput to team leader/supervisor/management.
  • Supportability to work overtime during the workweek and weekends with short notice due to business needs.
