About The Position

Vast is looking for an Integration Technician, 2nd Shift, reporting to the Supervisor, Integration, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. This will be a full-time, non-exempt position in our Long Beach location. Shift: 2nd shift: 2:00pm - 10:30pm.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 6+ years of experience in hardware assembly, test, and/or installation

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the aerospace industry, aviation, military, or other high-reliability operating environments
  • Experience in the assembly and testing of propulsion systems, avionics components, and harnesses
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license
  • Experience working with flight hardware in a fast-paced production environment
  • Skilled in operating and manipulating machinery and various hand and power tools requiring manual dexterity
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and reports
  • NASA-STD-8739.3 and NASA-STD-8739.4 certification (currently or previously held)
  • IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-620, and IPC-J-STD-001 certification (currently or previously held)
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments
  • Experience working in a cleanroom environment
  • Experience operating forklifts, cranes, and heavy equipment
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with engineering and production personnel
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing roles and responsibilities in a dynamic work environment
  • Proficiency with computers, including MS Office and Google Workspace

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, and test flight hardware in accordance with procedures, specifications, and test instructions
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and follow detailed work instructions to execute integration operations
  • Operate precision calibrated tools including torque wrenches, micrometers, and calipers
  • Perform hands-on operations with both large and small fragile assemblies, maintaining careful handling throughout
  • Perform high-pressure pneumatic testing
  • Operate various mechanical hand and power tools without supervision
  • Collaborate with production engineers and quality personnel to develop, execute, and document integration activities
  • Maintain compliance with standard industry ESD best practices during all operations
  • Ensure all work is performed on time, safely, and to the highest quality standards
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support an efficient and effective work environment
