About The Position

The Senior Integration Specialist is a highly experienced individual contributor responsible for end‑to‑end ownership of complex EDI and integration solutions across customers, vendors, and internal systems. This role serves as a technical authority and mentor, leading design decisions, resolving the most complex production issues, and driving continuous improvement of integration platforms, processes, and standards. This position operates with minimal supervision, partners closely with business and IT leadership, and plays a key role in shaping the integration roadmap, governance, and best practices.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in EDI and/or enterprise integrations
  • Strong hands‑on experience with integration platforms (e.g., Axway B2Bi and APIM, Boomi, or equivalent)
  • Deep knowledge of EDI standards and file types (X12, EDIFACT, XML, CSV, flat files)
  • Experience with common EDI documents (810, 850, 856; additional documents a plus)
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting (Java, Python, shell scripting, or similar)
  • Experience with multiple communication protocols (FTP, SFTP, AS2, APIs, web services)
  • Proven ability to design scalable, reliable integration solutions
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, manage, and maintain complex EDI, APIM and integration solutions, including translation maps, application programs, batch scripts, APIs, and integration points.
  • Lead system configuration, mapping, testing, deployment, and lifecycle management for enterprise‑scale integrations.
  • Serve as a design authority, leading integration architecture decisions and ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Lead and participate in design and code reviews, enforcing standards, best practices, and change management procedures.
  • Own the health, performance, and stability of assigned EDI and integration domains.
  • Lead troubleshooting of high‑severity and systemic production issues, performing root‑cause analysis and implementing long‑term corrective actions.
  • Proactively monitor integration flows to ensure timely and accurate data transmission.
  • Identify risks and implement improvements to increase resilience, efficiency, and observability.
  • Coordinate work across application, infrastructure, security, and external partners.
  • Ensure deliverables meet quality, timeline, and business objectives.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to analyze end‑to‑end workflow processes, identifying opportunities for optimization and automation.
  • Translate complex business needs into technical integration designs with minimal rework.
  • Document and maintain as‑is and to‑be process models, data flows, and integration dependencies.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business and IT teams on integration strategy and capabilities.
  • Establish, improve, and enforce integration standards, documentation, and controls.
  • Lead or contribute to the definition of security, audit, and compliance practices related to EDI and integrations.
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise change management, incident management, and security policies.
  • Contribute to the long‑term integration roadmap and technology evolution.
  • Mentor Associate and Integration Specialists, providing technical guidance and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain integration documentation and training materials.
  • Raise overall team maturity through knowledge sharing, process improvements, and coaching.
