This is an excellent launchpad position for a mechanically inclined individual looking to build a career in the aerospace and defense sector. This position is 100% ONSITE in Westford, MA.
Requirements
- An associate degree, technical certificate or related work experience in Aerospace Technology, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering Technology is highly preferred and 2+ years of relevant experience
- Must be able to obtain a secret security clearance, or have the ability to obtain a clearance.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- Excellent communication skills with all levels in a multi-matrixed environment
- Must be able to read and interpret schematic diagrams, mechanical drawings, and technical descriptions of the systems
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working on electro-mechanical systems
- Ability to use general and specialized test equipment to check-out and troubleshoot systems is a plus - examples - fluke meter, spectrum analyzer, and/or oscilloscope
- Integrity, reliability, and dedication in a team environment are a must.
- Must be an excellent problem solver and capable of providing viable courses of action to the team based on timely assessment and analysis.
- Hands on mechanical skillset a plus
- Working effectively with others, sharing knowledge and ideas, and contributing to a positive team environment is crucial.
- Being able to adjust to changes in plans, design specifications, or unforeseen circumstances is essential in dynamic engineering projects.
Responsibilities
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow basic mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
- Exceptional focus and a tracking mindset; aerospace components require tight tolerances where a minor oversight can impact safety.
- Assist in performing functional tests, system checks, and data collection on sub-assemblies using specialized diagnostic equipment, multi-meters, and mechanical measurement tools.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on electro-mechanical systems.
- Maintain highly accurate logs, quality control checklists, and safety documentation.
