About The Position

The Integration and Test Engineer supports the integration, test, verification, documentation, and operational readiness of prototype and operational satellite ground systems, satellite operations centers, and supporting infrastructure. This role focuses on integrating hardware, software, scripts, and mission unique software into the ground system environment; conducting incremental developmental, integration, and automated functionality testing; supporting interoperability testing with internal and external mission partners; documenting test results and system updates; and helping ensure system performance requirements are met in accordance with Government approved design plans and interfaces.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field or equivalent combination of experience in lieu of degree.
  • 1+ years of experience in system integration and testing
  • Top Secret, with ability to obtain SCI
  • Experience with system integration and testing methodologies supporting hardware, software, scripts, or mission unique software.
  • Ability to develop and execute test plans, test procedures, and test reports.
  • Ability to perform developmental, integration, and automated functionality testing.
  • Ability to analyze test results, troubleshoot issues, and update procedures or configurations to address errors and performance issues.
  • Understanding of system interfaces, requirements compliance, and interoperability considerations with internal and external mission partners.
  • Ability to maintain current technical data and test documentation in a Government-approved configuration management process.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with design, software, hardware, Government, and mission partner teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and team collaboration.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain integrated test plans, test procedures, and test reports for future capability enhancements.
  • Perform incremental developmental testing prior to system integration.
  • Conduct incremental, iterative, and automated functionality tests, including integration tests and certification of MUS interfaces.
  • Support test and verification processes to ensure system performance requirements are met.
  • Support external mission partner testing with the ground systems to ensure interoperability and ensure that external changes have no detrimental impact to existing missions.
  • Ensure new patches, upgrades, and configuration changes are compatible with externally connected systems prior to implementation.
  • Coordinate patches, upgrades, and configuration changes with internal and external mission partners, as necessary, prior to implementation.
  • Integrate MUS to include payload-specific telemetry, commanding, or planning applications.
  • Write and apply integration code to Government-provided scripts to function in the C2 suite.
  • Maintain mission configuration of MUS with scripts and integration code.
  • Maintain integrated version of mission software.
  • Update mission procedures and configurations to address errors, new features, and performance.
  • Interface with internal and external Mission Partners during all phases of the SE process.
  • Work with internal and external mission partners to ensure system interfaces are well defined, documented, and new requirements are compliant with existing systems.
  • Identify, review, and provide recommendations on ground systems’ requirements with Government representatives and mission partners.
  • Deliver updated system architectures and documentation upon completion of new implementations or updates.
  • Maintain current and accurate operational procedures, technical data, test plans, test reports, training materials, and other required documents using a Government-approved configuration management tool and process.
  • Ensure data and documentation are current and easily accessible to the Government on the local Government network and by using the in-house tools.
  • Utilize a disciplined Systems Engineering approach to ensure changes do not adversely impact systems and capabilities.
  • Support a Systems Engineering Management Plan that includes SE processes, configuration, risk, and change management, and a verification and validation approach.
  • Perform the necessary tasks to obtain and retain accreditation/certification of the ground systems from the appropriate Authorizing Official (AO).
  • Support quarterly recommendations for system improvements in areas such as redundancy, system downtime, or backup solutions, as applicable to assigned efforts.
  • Support identification of single points of failure and End of Life/End of Support concerns and propose paths forward to the Government, as applicable to assigned systems.
  • Coordinate required downtime with the Government to avoid scheduling conflicts, as applicable to integration and test activities.
