About The Position

This internship will provide hands-on experience supporting a team of project leaders and analysts focused on designing and implementing continuous improvements to material flow processes. The intern will gain exposure to manufacturing operations while contributing to projects that help optimize efficiency and support production activities.

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in Engineering, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Students entering their Junior or Senior year at the start of the upcoming academic term.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• GPA of 3.0 or above (Candidates will be required to provide an official or unofficial transcript during the application process for verification.)
• Ability to perform work onsite at Canton, MS.
• Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work in the United States and will be required to provide proof of employment eligibility at the time of hire; Nissan uses E-Verify to validate employment eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain part location tracking spreadsheets using Excel.
• Assist with developing and updating AutoCAD layouts to support material flow initiatives.
• Analyze current material flow processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support the development and implementation of strategies to improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with project leaders and analysts on continuous improvement projects across the facility.
