About The Position

As a Behavioral Health Clinician - Psychologist (BHC), you will serve as an integral member of the primary care team, working in a consultative and collaborative role to improve the overall health and well-being of patients. You will help address a broad spectrum of behavioral health needs by providing early identification, assessment, triage, and evidence-based, problem-focused interventions for patients experiencing behavioral, emotional, psychological, and social concerns related to both physical and mental health conditions. In this role, you will meet with patients individually to conduct comprehensive assessments, develop recommendations that enhance the patient's care plan, and collaborate closely with primary care providers to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care. When appropriate, you will provide follow-up treatment through skills training, coaching, and evidence-based interventions designed to improve patients' health, functioning, and overall wellness. You will also play a key role in supporting patients who require services beyond those available within the clinic by facilitating smooth transitions to community-based behavioral health resources. Requirements

Doctor of Psychology (PhD or PsyD) degree from a nationally accredited institution, fulfilling the requirements for licensure in the state of Oregon and/or Washington.
Minimum of two years of clinical experience or healthcare related field.
Current valid Oregon and Washington License as Psychologist.

Responsibilities

Deliver evidence-based interventions targeted to improve overall health for patients with a variety of emotional and behavioral problems.
Meet with patients individually for an assessment and provide recommendations to the primary care team to enhance the patient's care plan.
Work with patients for several subsequent sessions to provide on-going skills training and coaching to improve health and functioning.
Support patients who require services not provided in the clinic to make a smooth transition to care with community partners.
Conduct complex diagnostic clarification.
Assess medical and mental health comorbidities.
Provide expert consultation within the health system and externally, when appropriate.
Diagnose common mental health problems.
Conduct solution-focused interventions using modalities including ACT, CBT, CBT-I, and psychodynamic psychotherapy.
Recognize and advocate for patients regarding behavioral health strategies/interventions.
Promote health behavior change through evaluation, brief intervention and education.
Work with a multidisciplinary team to support the patient’s health.
Coordinate with providers and community partners to refer for appropriate mental health therapy.
Assess emotional, cognitive and behavioral disorders in child, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patients.
Assess cognitive and psychological problems associated with, and/or exacerbating medical conditions.
Work with an interdisciplinary team.
Perform case conceptualization and consultation.
Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to work at the fast pace of primary care.
