About The Position

Reporting to the Manager of Central Intake & Access, the Central Intake & Access Coordinator will be indirectly supporting the community in the Central Intake & Access programs and will be the first point of contact for our applicants and families, to ensure that they are navigated to the appropriate services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Social Services, or equivalent
  • 3+ years’ experience with Administrative Support
  • Strong knowledge of MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with supporting individuals in various stages of mental health wellness is an asset
  • A valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s license and a vehicle with adequate insurance coverage is an asset
  • ASIST training is an asset
  • Training in CPI, CPR, & First Aid is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Program Manager(s) and staff as appropriate
  • Track, review, and prepare month end absence and expense reports for sign off
  • Provide training to staff regarding the proper maintenance of clinical charts and their requirements
  • Receive, process, and forward referrals into designated programs
  • Record minutes of meetings and conduct file audits as necessary
  • Coordinate staff meetings and trainings
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with external partners
  • Participate in program planning and development; participate in quality improvement and program evaluation initiatives
  • Understand and be able to integrate a philosophy of person-centered and person-directed care into daily responsibilities
  • Strong customer service skills for telephone and in-person support through an equity, diversity, and inclusion lens
  • Consult referral source as needed to help clients and families navigate through the mental health and addictions services as well as supportive housing
  • Strong critical thinking skills to help promote smooth transfers of care for clients and families
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to quality care and service delivery based on SHIP’s Mission, Vision, and Values
  • Passionate about supporting a culture of equity, diversity and inclusion
  • Demonstrate ability to uphold PHIPA legislation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Be self-directed and reliable to achieve consistent goals
  • Profound knowledge and experience working with a diverse population of varying levels of education, professions, and personal life experiences from a broad range of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
  • Able to multi-task and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Indirectly responsible for client safety
