The Intake Therapist’s primary role is to assess the needs of walk-in clients and phone callers and ensure their referral to the service or resource to best address those needs. This role involves assisting administration, physicians, and clinical staff in assessing pending admits and coordinating services. The therapist will plan, coordinate, and evaluate facility assessments and client admissions, making decisions regarding the appropriate level of care for treatment. A key responsibility is directing the screening of potential patients for admission and initiating the integrated assessment process, while also identifying and addressing safety concerns for both patients and service providers.
