About The Position

Oversee and participate in conducting orientation for new detainees on classification procedures, conduct, and unit regulations. Coordinates and schedules inmates for diagnostic processing; fingerprint and photograph inmates; conducts fact-finding interviews; prepares routine and special correspondence, reports, studies, forms, and documents. Coordinate distribution of inmate identification paperwork appropriate for agencies. Participates in the planning and execution of an agency program. Prepare, interpret, and disseminate information on the agency’s programs and procedures; and responds to routine and non-routine inquiries regarding rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Supervises and assists in compiling and analyzing data, in making calculations, and in preparing reports. Develops, coordinates, and maintains recordkeeping and filing systems; operates and trains others on the office equipment. Supervises the work of assigned staff and provides training and technical assistance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Jailer’s license.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in correctional custody or law enforcement is preferred.
  • Experience in case processing, report writing, and interviewing is preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
