About The Position

The Intake Supervisor will oversee and participate in conducting orientation for new detainees on classification procedures, conduct, and unit regulations. This role coordinates and schedules inmates for diagnostic processing, fingerprinting, and photographing. The supervisor will conduct fact-finding interviews, prepare routine and special correspondence, reports, studies, forms, and documents. Additionally, they will coordinate the distribution of inmate identification paperwork and participate in the planning and execution of agency programs. The position involves preparing, interpreting, and disseminating information on agency programs and procedures, and responding to inquiries regarding rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. The supervisor will also compile and analyze data, make calculations, prepare reports, and develop, coordinate, and maintain recordkeeping and filing systems. Training others on office equipment and supervising assigned staff, providing training and technical assistance are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Jailer’s license.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in correctional custody or law enforcement is preferred.
  • Experience in case processing, report writing, and interviewing is preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities
