About The Position

Operation New Hope is a nonprofit organization with locations in Jacksonville, Orlando, St. Johns County, the Space Coast, Tampa, and St. Petersburg. They offer pre-release and post-release programs focused on job training, placement, and comprehensive support services for individuals returning from incarceration and those affected by the justice system. The goal is to facilitate successful community reintegration, promote responsible citizenship, prevent recidivism, reduce incarceration costs, and enhance public safety. The team is dedicated to supporting clients' career opportunities, mental health, and overall stability to foster self-sufficiency. The Intake Specialist serves as the initial point of contact for potential clients and community members, providing information, assisting with applications, determining eligibility, and guiding prospects through the initial stages of their program participation.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • 2-3 years customer service, clerical, or administrative experience.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Comfortable using computers, running reports, and learning new software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, as well as electronic client records, and staffing software required.
  • Collaboration, teamwork, and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to clear a Level I Background check through the Department of Corrections.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree preferred.
  • Experience working with marginalized or underserved populations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Informs organizations, community partners and prospects about the Ready4Work Program.
  • Completes an Intake Questionnaire.
  • Completes data entry into ETO (system of record).
  • Continues follow-up on necessary documentation so that a prospect can start the program.
  • Continues follow-up with the prospect until Orientation.
  • Conducts background checks and validates the information provided by prospects.
  • Refers ineligible candidates to other community partners / agencies when necessary.
  • Be willing to assist with drug testing.
  • Responsible for maintaining weekly and monthly metrics.
  • Other duties as assigned.
