Center for Justice Innovation•New York, NY
•$52,000 - $64,500•Onsite

About The Position

The Center for Justice Innovation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing community safety and racial justice. The Midtown Community Justice Center, launched in 1993, is one of the country’s first problem-solving courts, providing alternatives to fines and jail for low-level crime. Project Reset, New York City's pre-arraignment diversion program, operates city-wide in collaboration with the District Attorney’s Offices and the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice. It aims to create a proportionate response to low-level crime by avoiding incarceration and its associated harms. Participants can complete programming before their court date in lieu of prosecution, or through Rapid Reset for same-day diversion opportunities. The Intake Specialist will be the first point of contact for Project Reset-eligible individuals and their legal representation, engaging clients referred by the District Attorney's Office or the court for same-day programming. This role involves conducting intakes and assessments, scheduling programming, updating compliance, facilitating off-ramps, and building program awareness. The Intake Specialist will also support the Project Reset team with operations, including outreach, case management, and workshop facilitation, working closely with Midtown’s alternative-to-incarceration and court operations teams.
