About The Position

The Intake Specialist is responsible for reviewing and processing intake applications for new families, communicating with families regarding outstanding documents, and determining eligibility for subsidized childcare services according to DHS and policies. This role involves collaboration with other departments within ELRC and other CAP programs, as well as working respectfully with coworkers to serve customers and develop best practices. The specialist will provide information to parents about eligibility criteria and maintain close communication with parents/caretakers. Additionally, the role requires ensuring timely and accurate processing of applications, maintaining a thorough understanding of DHS policies and regulations, and keeping files and records complete and accurate. Planning and organizing are key to complying with office procedures, meeting time-mandated requirements, and organizing workflow to meet deadlines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma with 2 years of human services experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and Process intake applications for new families
  • Communicates with new families by generating correspondences for all outstanding documents
  • Determines eligibility for subsidized childcare services according to DHS and policies
  • Collaborates with other departments within ELRC and other CAP programs
  • Works with coworkers in a respectful, meaningful way to best serve the customers and to develop best practices for workflow and projects
  • Provides information to parent and the eligibility criteria
  • Communicates closely with parent/caretaker.
  • Ensures all applications submitted are processed timely and accurately
  • Maintains a thorough understanding and ability to interpret DHS policies and regulations
  • Maintains complete and accurate files and records
  • Complies with office procedures and expectations to ensure time mandated requirements on work are met
  • Ensures organization of workflow to meet required deadlines
