Intake Specialist - Master's
About The Position
This role serves as the first point of contact for clients seeking mental health services at Thresholds. The Intake Specialist will conduct assessments with individuals, meeting with clients, families, and providers in various community-based settings across Chicago. Responsibilities include building rapport, completing the IM+CANS and comprehensive service plans, and collaborating with the Intake team and clinical programs to determine diagnostic impressions, appropriate levels of care, and facilitate client transitions to ongoing care. The position offers opportunities for professional development, including training in harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based practices, as well as clinical supervision to enhance clinical writing skills and career growth within the organization.
Requirements
- Passion for mental health advocacy
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills
- Excellent clinical writing skills
- Strong time management and organization
- To be at least 21 years old
- A valid driver’s license, current car insurance, and daily access to your own car
Responsibilities
- Complete assessments with individuals interested in mental health services.
- Meet with clients, families, and providers in community-based settings.
- Build rapport with new people and form impactful relationships.
- Complete the IM+CANS and comprehensive service plan.
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisor to determine diagnostic impression and appropriate level of care.
- Partner with clinical programs to coordinate client transition to ongoing care.
